We are deeply saddened to confirm that an incident occurred at AAK’s Louisville facility in Kentucky on Sunday, September 21, 2025. Tragically, one of our colleagues lost their life. Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and colleagues affected by this loss.
Emergency services responded immediately, and we are cooperating fully with the authorities in their investigation. As a precaution, operations in the relevant part of the plant have been shut down.
Safety is AAK’s top priority. We are committed to understanding what happened and taking all necessary steps to ensure such an incident does not occur again.
Update: 26th September 2025 - Continuing our support and response in Louisville
Since the accident, we have focused on being there for those affected and ensuring that our employees have access to support.
As a mark of respect and unity, AAK employees across the globe have also observed a minute of silence in honor of our lost team member.
We are cooperating fully with the authorities in the ongoing investigation and have engaged both internal and external expertise to help us understand what happened.
We are committed to learning from this incident and to taking steps to prevent similar events in the future.
An internal memorial is being planned in the U.S to honor and remember our colleague, guided by wishes of the Louisville team.
