AAK Denmark is looking for a technically sound and experienced profile to become an application expert at AAK.  AAK is the leading producer of specialized oils and fats for the food industry. Based in Aarhus the company has unmatched expertise in the application of vegetable oils and fats in chocolate and confectionery. This is a unique opportunity to become a specialist within the field.

...as an innovative project manager...

You will be working with AAK specialty fats and their applications in the customers chocolate and confectionery products. Together with the rest of the AAK team you will create tailor-made solutions to fulfill the customer’s needs in line with the latest scientific and market developments. After initial training you will be initiating and driving technical customer projects including:

  • Technical advice on processes, formulations and validating product functionality
  • Visiting the customers, making plant trials etc.
  • Developing new, tailor made products and applications as well as optimizing existing products and applications
  • Optimizing formulations combining relevant technologies


You will be responsible for knowing and understanding AAK customer’s technologies and products.

Based on your customer knowledge you will - in cooperation with sales - be the liason between the customer and internal departments e.g. commercial product management and technical product management.

As AAKs customers includes both multinational companies and European regional leaders, you should expect a certain level of travel activity depending on the markets you are serving with the base in Aarhus, Denmark.

You are motivated by building strong relationships with AAK’s customers, and you can see yourself working closely together with the customers on their home field. Based on an outgoing personality you are comfortable approaching the customers alone or together with colleagues.

You will be involved in a wide variety of projects in a challenging environment where two days are never alike. AAKs international customer base requires your ability to adjust to different back-grounds and different cultures. A lot of the daily communication is in English, and skills in other major languages e.g. Russian is an advantage.

You will be part of a strong technical network working in a matrix structure with colleagues in commercial functions and supply chain. Your colleagues will expect you to be a proactive and flexible team-player, strong in project management and with excellent communications skills.

...based on a strong academic background and technical know-how…

Besides a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology or equivalent you have significant experience within a food company working B2B with food ingredients.

Your experience includes NPD, processing and applications. Good technical knowledge of chocolate and confectionery ingredients and the application of (vegetable) fats and oils is a clearly an advantage. So is knowledge of the equipment and machinery needed in chocolate and confectionery manufacturing.
